Terms and Conditions - GENERAL

1. EDEX will not take any responsibility and/or liability for any acts and/or omissions done or committed by any third party by misusing and/or misapplying any data or any information submitted by any Institute or any Individual or any data or information became aware or acquired through EDEX.
2. In any manner whatsoever, EDEX will not be liable and/or responsible for any violation and/or breach and/or infringement of any Intellectual Property Right of any Institute or any Individual and EDEX will not be liable to pay or compensate any damages and/or losses suffered or caused by such Institute or Individual as a result of such violation and/or breach and/or infringement.
3. 1. EDEX will not undertake and/or promise to provide any jobs and/or employments to any individual or groups who will use EDEX Web;
   2. EDEX will not take any liability or responsibility and, in any manner, EDEX is not accountable for any acts or omissions of any individual or group of job seekers / applicants before or after they are selected for any employment.
4. Any Institute or any Individual who uses and/or obtained the services of EDEX Web is not an agent or a representative of EDEX for any purpose whatsoever and such Institute or Individual shall have no authority or power to enter into any agreement and/or contract on behalf of or for EDEX for any purpose whatsoever and shall have no authority to enter into any dealings or transactions with any other party without the prior written consent of EDEX.
5. Any Institute or any Individual who uses and/or obtained the services of EDEX Web has no right and/or authority to use any of the Trade Marks, Trade Names, Logos or any other Intellectual Property Items or Rights of EDEX without the prior written consent of EDEX.
6. The clauses and terms and conditions of EDEX Web shall be governed by and constructed in all respect in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka.
7. The decision of EDEX will be final and binding with regard to any dispute and/or Interpretation of these clauses and terms and conditions or any other matter not covered herein.

Terms and Conditions - for CV submitting applicants

1. By accessing www.EDEX.lk web portal, and/or by uploading the personal details on this web site, the individuals understand, conditionally agree and consent to the following:
   1. www.EDEX.lk is a web portal owned, maintained and operated by EDEX Committee of Royal College Union, EDEX Secretariat, Rajakeeya Mawatha, Colombo 7, Sri Lanka;
   2. www.EDEX.lk web portal is a voluntary initiative to assist job seekers to find employment opportunities, seekers of higher education and vocational training to identify different options in the respective areas and career professionals to achieve higher goals in their future careers
   3. All applications received will remain current for a period of 180 days from the date of uploading. Current applications will be circulated among the Strategic Partners and Sponsors of EDEX events, and other employers who are interested in employing suitable candidates depending on the demand that exists at their organizations;
   4. Over a period of time EDEX shall at their sole discretion upgrade the services offered through the EDEX web portal to provide more value added services for the benefit of prospective Employers and job seekers in Sri Lanka.
   5. The applicant agrees that sharing of all information with any of the Employers who may seek to fill their job vacancies through the EDEX Careers Database;
   6. Further, the applicant agrees that EDEX has the right to create User Identities for each applicant, and to connect current or enhanced services of EDEX web portal to such Users;
   7. EDEX will not undertake to influence any prospective Employer's decision making in selection of applicants and any such request received will prompt EDEX to remove the relevant data sheet from the web portal. Team EDEX reserves the right to delete any data at their total discretion and without any obligation on their part to give any reason for such decision and or action;
   8. Whilst EDEX will do their best to voluntarily assist the applicants who upload their personal information on this site, no undertaking can be given that employment is guaranteed through this process. Affording of Employment opportunities through EDEX Careers web portal will exclusively and totally depend on the own merits of applicants and their suitability in terms of academic qualifications, skills, aptitudes, attitudes and other traits as evaluated and determined by the respective Employers at their own discretion;
   9. All applicants should undertake to provide true and accurate information pertaining to the applicant so that the credibility of information provided to prospective employers can be maintained;
   10. By mere uploading of the applicant's personal information to the EDEX Careers web portal the applicant agrees to abide by the terms and conditions currently in force for the services of the EDEX Careers web portal and agrees to hold the EDEX indemnified, safe and harmless against any losses, charges, suits, claims, expenses and damages that team EDEX shall or may be caused, sustained, incurred due to any reason whatsoever;
   11. Any applicant who is successful in finding employment through EDEX Careers web portal should undertake to inform EDEX, details of employment so that the data record of such applicant can be properly warehoused as a successful applicant.
   12. EDEX has the right to add, modify, amend or delete any or part of Terms & Conditions governing www.EDEX.lk Web portal at its own discretion, with or without prior notice to the individuals accessing or using services of www.EDEX.lk web portal. Display of current version of Terms & Conditions governing www.EDEX.lk Web portal (subsequent to such additions, modifications, amendments or deletions) on www.EDEX.lk web portal shall amount to sufficient notice.
   13. EDEX web portal is a creative initiative of EDEX and is in its embryonic development stage. Any suggestions to improve EDEX Careers web portal will be greatly appreciated.
